A woman who had every justifiable reason to complain instead modeled the epitome of faith, persistence, and Christ-like love.
Times of crisis seem to punctuate the waiting times. The wait often seems harder, longer, or even less do-able. Those situations can test our faith. Do we believe the circumstances we are in, or do we hold strong and believe God’s truth?
The outcome of our experience may depend more on our attitude than the actual situation we encounter. I am reminded that I can largely influence the result of my experience by the attitude with which I face the situation. I must deliberately choose that which is right, that which is positive.
When we focus on what we have the opportunity to be thankful for, a subtle shift takes place in our heart and in our mind. The focus moves from ourselves and our own circumstances to God and His generosity, goodness, and faithfulness.
I can look back and see how my struggle to fully trust God has been much like a game of tug of war. At times I trust Him so easily, yet at other times, I seem to fight with all my might by trying to achieve in my own strength rather than trusting His. So I began to seek out how to trust God more quickly and completely.
