“Shadow! Come! No! Get off Mrs. Miller’s yard! Come on, let’s go! We are trying to get you together with your sister and your brothers.”

As we walked to my friend’s house, Shadow decided a squirrel across the street was SUPER INTERESTING. She ran across the street and started barking… up the wrong tree. She nearly caught the squirrel had it not been for a root of a large tree that tripped her and made her tumble away from me.

God wants you to come to Him but sometimes we stray off and do the things that are not what we are supposed to do. “…everyone whom the Lord our God calls to Himself” (Acts 2:39).

God is always by us and is trying to draw us closer to Him. “We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all” (Isaiah 53:6). If we go astray then God will call us back to Him and will keep us with Him.

We like sheep and dogs have gone astray but God is our shepherd, and will not let us wander down a wrong path if we decide to keep with Him and to listen to Him. God will always be by our side, but it is our choice whether or not to listen to what He has to say.

“What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off?” (Matthew 18:12) –each and every one of us are so important to God that He will go after us to rescue us and keep us in His care.

Whenever we go astray, God calls us back to Himself. We are so important to Him, He goes after us and rescues us.
