Have you ever experienced a situation that left you feeling disappointed, discouraged and frustrated? Whenever life throws me a curve ball, I turn to God’s word and search for scriptures that I can put into action to change my attitude and perspective. These 15 Bible Verses on discouragement, disappointment and frustration have given me and others the ability to fight the enemy and overcome.

Plans had not gone as I’d hoped. I’d planned, I prayed, I did my part, and yet, I was left feeling disappointed, discouraged, and frustrated.
I don’t know if that has ever happened to you, but sometimes we pray and make the best-laid plans, only to be left wanting, unfulfilled, and discouraged. Did we hear God right? Was He even listening? Was there something blocking the answer to prayer or the fulfillment of His promises?
Sometimes life throws a curve ball and things just don’t go the way we expect. What then?
As a board certified clinical neuropsychologist, patients frequently come into my office feeling frustrated, discouraged, disappointed and disillusioned. “What now?” they ask. At the heart of their question is the underlying question, “How do I handle my disappointment and discouragement?”
I’m so grateful that just as Scripture promises, we have already been given everything we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). When I experience that disappointment and discouragement, I look to God’s word for perspective. The enemy would love for us to focus on our disappointment and discouragement, but turning our attention back to God is a guaranteed attitude re-set.
15 Bible Verses on disappointment, discouragement and frustration that will give you a life-changing attitude re-set:
1. Psalm 27:13-14

3. Psalm 55:22

Michelle,
I’m here again 🙂 Your post is the third one I’ve read with Scriptures to encourage believers. God must know there’s a lot of weary people out there. Praying they find their way to your blog.

Always love seeing you here, Sherry! I think now more than ever, the world needs hope and they need to understand truth. So much deception in the world right now…when what they need is Jesus! Blessings to you friend!
These are some of my favorites and worth memorizing for when those pesky darts of discouragement and disappointment attack.
Deb,
Sometimes it just helps to have these truths all in one place for quick reference. I know I need to refer back to them. There is no better way to deal with the trials of life than with God’s word. Because of Him, #HopePrevails!
Such a great list of verses. God’s word brings the comfort I need every time. I have had many experiences with things not turning out the way I expected, but the blessing is that God knows how it’s going to turn out and that’s all that matters.
Mary,
Isn’t it a comfort to know that God is sovereign over all and what the enemy intended for harm through disappointment and discouragement, God will use for our good and His glory! Because of Him, #HopePrevails!

Great verses you picked on disappointment. I have pinned it. The first one is one I cling to.“I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord” (Psalm 27:13-14).
Thank you for linking up with Grace & Truth Christina Link-Up.
Maree,
Psalm 27 is one of the ones I cling to. God is always good. The hard part is waiting on Him. But yet we take heart and wait for the Lord! Blessings to you.
