Have you ever felt unlovable? Have you ever wondered, does God love me? I’ve been there at different times in my life. Yet God has been faithful to show ways that we can know He loves us.
The thing that can be so hard to grasp is that God’s love for us is perfect, unfailing, and never-ending…whether we accept it and receive it, or not. Whether we turn our back on Him and go our own way or not. His love is not based on what we do, but whose we are.
God and His promises are trustworthy.
God told us in John 10:10 that “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 8:44 further declares that there is no truth in him for he is a liar and the father of lies. He is incapable of telling the truth. Yet, he consistently tries to get us to believe that God doesn’t love us and that we are, in fact, unlovable.
I’ve heard those lies many times. Have you?
The best way to fight back against the enemy’s lies is with the truth of God’s word. What does God say about His love for us?
7 Ways We Know God Loves Us
1. God delights over us with singing.
“The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17 NIV).
2. We are loved deeply, completely and forever!
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-9 NIV).
3. We are His.
“I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.” (Song of Solomon 6:3 NIV).
4. God will never give up on us.
“Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance” (1 Corinthians 13:7 NLT).
5. God promises to walk with us, never leave us, and comfort us.
“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4 NIV).
6. God’s love is unfailing and steadfast.
“God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:17 NLT).
7. Nothing can separate us from God’s love – His faithful love endures forever.
“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. (Psalm 136:1 NLT)!
Despite our current circumstances, God will never give up on us. He promises to keep on loving us with His perfect, everlasting love. May you experience His infinite love in a very real way in the coming days.
May I pray for you?
Dear Heavenly Father,
So many are hurting right now, and I know this hurts your heart. You promise to be near the brokenhearted and rescue the crushed in spirit. We have all sinned and fallen short, often leaving us feel unworthy and unlovable. Wrap each one reading this in your tender, protective love. Let it flow down upon them in a palpable way. Help us to remember that your perfect love is available to each of us regardless of the mistakes we’ve made or the circumstances we experience. Thank you for your steadfast love. In the name of your precious son, Jesus, Amen.
Will you embrace His promise of love today?

Thank you for sharing this. He is a God that loves us unconditionally and I love the quote you share from Corrie Ten Boom
He does for sure, Lisa! What a great God He is! Because of Him, Hope Prevails!
God’s love for me is something I’ve been trying to wrap my brain around since I came to the Lord many years ago. Some days I do not feel lovable. But the beautiful truth is that God is a God of love, and He made me for love — to love Him and so He could love me in return.
I most certainly understand, Barbie. Some times it is difficult for me to grasp as well…something that wide, deep, high and long is incomprehensible, especially when we feel so unlovable. That just makes Him all the more amazing! Because of Him, #HopePrevails!
What a great word, Michelle!
I don’t think there is anything more profound than coming to grips with the reality that God just loves us. No strings.
Thanks for the reminder today!
Came over on Mommy Moments.

Amen! What a beautiful response :). Have you ever read “The Hidden Half of the Gospel” by Paul Coneff? I’m almost finished reading it, and it’s such a life-changing book in helping me understand how to minister to those who feel angry with God or that God doesn’t understand them or their pain.
Anita, I’ve never read it – hadn’t even heard of it. But you’ve piqued my interest for sure! Thanks so much for sharing. Because of Him, #HopePrevails!

Lori, I definitely agree. Without His unconditional love, we wouldn’t have hope!! But because of Him, #HopePrevails!
Amen! Even though I know He loves me, it’s refreshing to read how and why!
We all need to read it and hear it often to remind ourselves of how great our God is and how perfect His love is for us! Because of Him, #HopePrevails!

One of the first statements made to us when we share with others is ‘I don’t think God loves me. How can He with all I have done.’ We will gently and lovingly tell them that there is no question that God loves you but you have to receive and believe that love. So we have them lay across the bed and spend time quietly with the Lord and ask Him if He loves them. Most times they will hear in their spirit and in their head, Yes, my daughter/son I love you! When they hear those words, the tears will flow. Then they know that He does indeed love them. Hard for people to grasp that nothing they do or don’t do changes the love our heavenly Father has for us. Scripture tells us but the enemy tells us otherwise. Thank you so much for this powerful message. You are a blessing of the Lord in our life, Please keep sharing and encouraging!!
Thank you for these reminders of God’s great love for us.
Last year I embarked on a journey to get to the root of why I can lack trust in the Lord with certain areas. I set out to study the attributes of God. Through journaling and through meditating upon WHO God is and WHO I am in Him, I understood where my problem lie and was then able to see God in the light of His Everlasting Love for me.
God’s love is like no other. Everlasting, unfailing, and true. However, some forget that when they are going through a challenge and it is easy to do. Sometimes we have to consciously remind ourselves that we need to experience the valley in order to celebrate the mountaintop. Thank you for the reminder. Thank you for sharing with #omhgww.
