Dear Dr. B,
You write a lot about God and your faith. Does God really love me?
Feeling Unlovable
Dear Loved One,
Without a doubt God loves you!
But we have an enemy who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, and he loves nothing better than to try to get us to doubt God’s love for us. But that enemy is called the Father of Lies, because he is incapable of telling truth. Everything he says is a lie. So we need to know what the truth is according to God’s word.
God speaks of His feelings toward you repeatedly in His word. God says: You are His and He is yours (Song of Solomon 6:3 NIV).
He delights over you: “For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs” (Zephaniah 3:17 NLT).
His love for you never stops. “God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:17 NLT).
And not only does He love you, He promises to be close to you and comfort you. “Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me” (Psalm 23:4 NLT).
God promises to never give up on you and to continue loving you despite the circumstances you may find yourself in. “Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance” (1 Corinthians 13:7 NLT).
You are deeply and completely loved forever! “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow–not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below–indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-9 NLT).
The truth is that God’s word repeatedly says in different ways that nothing can separate us from God’s love. Truly we can agree with David who encouraged, “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, His love endures forever” (Psalm 136:1 NIV)!
The next time the enemy tries to whisper to you that you aren’t loved or lovable, remember the truth in the words of Corrie Ten Boom: “There is no pit so deep, that God’s love is not deeper still.”
Will you receive His love for you today?
Father, I pray for those who feel unlovable. Would you please reveal your love to them in a new way that removes the scales from their eyes and enlightens them to the great gift of your unfailing love? Give them a revelation of your perfect love that extends no matter what mistakes we’ve made or the situations we are in. I thank you Father for your steadfast love. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Because of Him, Hope Prevails!

Thank you Denise! Blessings!
Thank you for sharing this. He is a God that loves us unconditionally and I love the quote you share from Corrie Ten Boom
He does for sure, Lisa! What a great God He is! Because of Him, Hope Prevails!
God’s love for me is something I’ve been trying to wrap my brain around since I came to the Lord many years ago. Some days I do not feel lovable. But the beautiful truth is that God is a God of love, and He made me for love — to love Him and so He could love me in return.
I most certainly understand, Barbie. Some times it is difficult for me to grasp as well…something that wide, deep, high and long is incomprehensible, especially when we feel so unlovable. That just makes Him all the more amazing! Because of Him, #HopePrevails!
What a great word, Michelle!
I don’t think there is anything more profound than coming to grips with the reality that God just loves us. No strings.
Thanks for the reminder today!
Came over on Mommy Moments.
Hope you have a blessed day~
Melanie

Amen! What a beautiful response :). Have you ever read “The Hidden Half of the Gospel” by Paul Coneff? I’m almost finished reading it, and it’s such a life-changing book in helping me understand how to minister to those who feel angry with God or that God doesn’t understand them or their pain.
Anita, I’ve never read it – hadn’t even heard of it. But you’ve piqued my interest for sure! Thanks so much for sharing. Because of Him, #HopePrevails!

Lori, I definitely agree. Without His unconditional love, we wouldn’t have hope!! But because of Him, #HopePrevails!
Amen! Even though I know He loves me, it’s refreshing to read how and why!
