Sometimes our lives are so filled with pain that we must find ways to cope because all we have done just hasn’t worked to stop the pain. Unfortunately, the ways we cope can cause even more pain, uncertainty and struggle. Tonie Camacho experienced some devastating situations while young; the loss of a parent, a mother who was mentally ill, and being sexually abused and raped. Alcohol became her way to cope. But, God can find us even in the midst of alcoholism.

I talk with Tonie Camacho who lost a parent early in life, lived with a mentally ill mother, was sexually abused, raped and left for dead. She turned to alcohol as a coping mechanism. After her third DWI, and time in jail, God saved her. She learned that you are never too lost for God to find you. Sobriety is a daily struggle. But Tonie learned that the storm doesn’t last forever and God is on the other side with His hand open.
