Will God give us too much to handle? Some well-intentioned people say that God won’t give us more than we can handle. But, is that really what the Bible says? I’ve been through times when I just wasn’t sure I could handle it. And in truth, in my own strength, I couldn’t. Why does God allow us to go through seasons that are more than we can handle?

When times are hard and no answers are ready, we are given the opportunity to grow our faith and become more like Jesus by trusting God to manage our trial. He warns us in His word that we will go through hard times. God offers us hope in that when the difficulties come, He will be with us. That’s the When and Will of trust.

Do you ever struggle to trust God? That’s where I was; wanting to more fully trust but lacking. Sometimes God has to get our attention different ways before we’ll listen. He got my attention on a 3 day beach trip. It was a confirmation to trust God. That was the start of my journey to better understand how to lean on Him and trust him more deeply.

When we’re facing major life stressors, it’s more important than ever to trust God. The first step to trusting God with more intentionality is to identify what we need, then be honest with God about it. Through this exercise, I found peace in the seven names of God.
