We are all facing problems today between relationship difficulties, financial hardship, legal problems, job loss, health problems, and deaths of loved ones and friends. But, God is greater than our problems. We can strive in our own might or surrender to Him. We can choose the stress of trying to do it all or surrender it all to God. Do you ever wonder what Jesus would say about anxiety, fear and worry? Or, how he addressed them? His answer was simple with three little words. It is finished. He gave us the tools we need to overcome.
Fear can stop us in our tracks and paralyze us, bringing our forward momentum to a screeching halt. But, when we trust in God and His unfailing word, we can overcome fear. Trust in God is the antithesis to fear. On a family trip, I learned how trusting in God would keep me from being afraid. Even though I was suspended hundreds of feet in the air, I wasn’t afraid and I’ll share why you shouldn’t be either!
Earlier in life, God called me to rest before I even knew what the word meant. What I learned in my searching was that rest requires trust in God. And, in order to rest and truly trust God, it meant I would have to surrender control to Him. These 5 scriptures helped me learn to trust God enough to rest.
