Imagine with me for a moment that you are on a boat out on the lake. It is windy and there are a lot of white caps. You want to go tubing but it is too choppy to stay on the tube for more than one minute. You ask your dad to try to take to a less choppy ride on the lake. You look around for a while before finding a spot that is calm enough. It is time to start tubing, and have some fun!

In your life, you also have to find the right area that God wants you in. For you, a certain area might be too choppy or too calm but for someone else that same area might be perfect. Even if it seems too choppy, you will sooner or later realize it is the place that God has put you in. Sometimes it will seem too easy and God will move you to a harder area to do your work. Every once in a while the area that God puts you in will get more or less choppy. There will probably be both hard and alternately easy times in your life- such as losing a loved one or getting a new pet. God will put you in the right spot even if it is hard to find.

God will help you find the perfect spot for you even if it means going through a few rough spots. You might encounter a few ships that are going to the same area as you and some that you might have to depart from. God will give you the right people and the right spot. God will care for you even when the water is choppy and the boat is about to tip over. He will guide you and be your G.P.S. or God’s Positioning System. He will always lead you to the right spot.

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am” (John 14:3).

“And if I go and prepare a place for you”– God is making your place ahead of time.

“I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” –  God will take you to your place when He decides you are ready.

Trust Him. Whether you’re in the calm waters or the choppy waters, God is right there with you.
