God, through Scripture, tells us He is the great “I Am.” He has proven His trustworthiness and provided many reasons why we can trust Him.
When I read that God is the great “I Am,” for some reason, I get a mental picture of the Wizard of Oz when he was exposed behind the curtain. The wizard felt threatened to be found out for not being one who had all the answers, but rather, an ordinary man as he proclaimed, “Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!”
God, on the other hand, knows everything. In two small words, He proved His trustworthiness for whatever your situation. He is the alpha and the omega…the beginning and the end. Because He created everything, He knows everything.
There is power in the name, I Am.
He is everything we need at all times.
17 Reasons to Trust God, the great “I Am”
I am…God
I am…the Creator.
I am…your Father.
I am…your provider.
I am…your healer.
I am…your defender.
I am…your comforter.
I am…your strong tower.
I am…your hiding place.
I am…your answer.
I am…enough.
I am…hope.
I am…peace.
I am…joy.
I am…rest.
I am…love.
I am…everything you need.
No one and nothing else can ever be all things to all people, but the great I Am.
Yet we trust others, and we put our trust in things that are bound to disappoint. We put our trust in people and things that are by their very nature imperfect. God is perfection, and He above all has earned our trust.
Will you trust Him to be whatever it is you need today?

“It’s very likely that you or a loved one has experienced the effects of depression: profound sadness, lack of energy, loss of joy. You may have found yourself wishing for the honest counsel of a wise woman or a close friend, even a special therapist. Someone who would understand what you are going through without you having to find the words. Someone who has a special kind of wisdom and guidance to share. Through Hope Prevails, Dr. Bengtson relates to the reader as a caring friend while providing professional insights formed by years of education, training, and experience as a neuropsychologist. In Hope Prevails, Dr. Bengtson attends to the spiritual aspects of healing from depression and interprets frequently used depression treatment techniques within the context of a close relationship with God. Dr. Bengtson sprinkles personal knowing alongside professional knowledge to deliver sound teachings and recommendations from the perspective of a “helper” who has had her own battles against depression, has grabbed hold of God’s promises and realized joy in Him. She delivers inspired love and understanding of her own and through that shows God’s love for those who are in despair. She is that friend, maybe not one you know personally, but one whose words can comfort and guide you just as powerfully toward a fulfilled relationship with God, the Healer.” ~ Laura Patke, Psy.D., Licensed Psychologist
That’s one of my very favorite verses in the Bible and my favorite name of God—I AM WHO I AM. Today. Tomorrow. For always. What a glorious God we serve.
I love your Rx graphic. I pinned it. These are great ways to remember how powerful God is. I read another article this morning about the great I AM, so God is getting a point across!
