Have you ever felt disconnected from those around you? Ever felt alone, like you didn’t fit in? I have…plenty of times. Not only have I felt alone, but I have felt lonely. What’s even worse is that there have been times when I have been in a large group of people and still felt alone and lonely.
I wonder if Jesus felt the same way. Whether it was in the temple while others were chastising Him for healing on the Sabbath, or when he was in the garden and had asked his disciples to stay awake and pray with him only to find them asleep.
When I look back at my life, and the times that I felt more disconnected from others, I think that was the greatest opportunity to make sure that I was connected to the right source. No matter whether I was physically alone or just felt like it, My heavenly Father has always been there, but I haven’t always taken the opportunity to stay connected to the only reliable source. For God promises to never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5), even when we feel most disconnected from others.
When Jesus was healing on the Sabbath ~ he was connected to the Father. He knew it was best to connect others to Him as well. When he was alone in the garden without even one of his disciples remaining awake with him, even then he was connected to the Father. What a beautiful reminder Jesus was, to stay connected to the Father.
And really, if God is all you have, you have all you need! (John 14:8)
What distracts you from staying connected to the only reliable source?
I love your blog post and how you encourage others to stay connected to God. Jesus is our greatest example in this because He showed by example all the time how He depended all the time on His Father while on earth. Thanks!
I need Him every hour…
Vivian,
You are so right. Jesus was the perfect example to us. He even took time apart from His ministry work to spend time alone with God to pray.
Stay Connected!

What an inspirational post! Thank you! It is easy to feel alone, but we must remember we are not.
Julie,
It is easy to feel alone and we have an enemy of our souls who would like to convince us of that. We have to make a choice to stand on truth and believe the truth of God’s worth.
Blessings to You Julie!

Words are so true and I can totally relate. GOD is our SOURCE of connection – I like to often use the analogy of being plugged into the wall outlet for electricity. Without being plugged in, the energy doesn’t flow through….. For we all are energy in motion.
Tune in, plug in and thrive in Christ…..
Thank you!!!!
Nancy
Nancy,
I love that: “Tune in, plug in and thrive in Christ!” That pretty well sums up the answer to any question, doesn’t it?
Here’s to Thriving in Christ!
